It’s one of the most glittering and glamorous social events of the Las Vegas calendar. In fact, it’s been hailed as the creme de la creme of Las Vegas parties. Gorgeous gowns and sparkling jewelry at Nevada Ballet Theater’s 28th Annual Black and White Ball will match elegance and excitement Saturday with “Desperate Housewives” star Eva Longoria in the spotlight.

There are added showbiz elements to this year’s celebration at Aria and Crystals at MGM’s CityCenter, with actress and singer Susan Anton joining celebrity auctioneer Christian Kolberg for the auction, plus Broadway beauty Leigh Zimmerman joining me on the paddle raise to secure more than $150,000 in scholarships for gifted students of Future Dance.

But the two highlights will be the Woman of the Year presentation to Eva and the surprise introduction of dance superstar Cynthia Gregory. Cynthia is joining the NBT family in time for the May 5 debut performance of the company at its new home in the Smith Center for the Performing Arts.

“I feel so lucky to have found this wonderful new home,” Cynthia said. “I have worked with many wonderful artists, George Balanchine, Agnes de Mille, Jerome Robbins, and now I can be the direct connection between them and the marvelous dancers of Nevada Ballet.”

The ballet that most shaped Cynthia’s career was “Swan Lake,” and at Saturday’s gala, she will present the Black Swan Pas De Deux from that ballet with Sarah Fuhrman and Grigori Arakelyn.

CityCenter chiefs Bobby Baldwin and Bill McBeath co-chair the evening, with Bobby introducing Eva. She has won many awards, including the Golden Globe, Screen Actors Guild and People’s Choice, and also Philanthropist of the Year and serves as national spokeswoman for the nonprofit Padres organization committed to improving the quality of life for Latino children with cancer. Her foundation Eva’s Heroes helps young adults with developmental challenges.

Her boyfriend Eduardo Cruz, the brother of Oscar-winning actress Penelope Cruz, will accompany Eva, who co-owns Beso at Crystals. Eva follows in the ballet slippers of past honorees Priscilla Presley last year, Celine Dion, Marie Osmond, Bette Midler and Debbie Reynolds. Eva stars in the upcoming “Baytown Disco” with Billy Bob Thornton and this summer shoots “Cristiada” in Mexico with Andy Garcia and Peter O’Toole.

Cartier in Crystals will host an early evening VIP cocktail reception to welcome Eva. NBT dancers will perform at the cocktail reception at Aria’s Ironwood Ballroom, with a celebrity red carpet before dinner and the auction.

After last night’s sad news that Demi Moore had been rushed to hospital, her celebrity friend Eva Longoria has joined those sending messages of support on Twitter.

“Sending my love and support to one of the most beautiful people i know @mrskutcher’

said Eva, who has known the actress for a number of years.

It was confirmed last night that Demi had sought professional assistance at a medical facility because of the stresses she was under.

Her representative said: “Because of the stresses in her life right now, Demi has chosen to seek professional assistance to treat her exhaustion and improve her overall health.

“She looks forward to getting well and is grateful for the support of her family and friends.”

Eva Longoria and Eduardo Cruz hit up Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in LA last night (19th January) for the premiere ofKate Beckinsale’s latest film Underworld: Awakening. Kate and Eva are close pals and even cohosted Victoria Beckham’s baby shower last Summer. Their circle of friends has a lot to celebrate this week! It was just confirmed that the Beckhams are staying in LA for at least two more years. David signed a new deal with the Galaxy, so it’s possible we’ll see Eva and Posh enjoying future games from the Beckhams’ private box.

via TMZ.com – Eva Longoria has had enough of Tony Parker, both in marriage and on her body, because she went to a famous tattoo guy Wednesday to begin the final process of 86′ing the “NINE” tattoo on her neck.

Nine, of course, is Tony’s number on the San Antonio Spurs, but it’s not sitting well with Eva now that she’s divorced from Parker. We’ve learned she went to Dr. Tattoff — the famous tattoo removal guy — Wednesday to get all traces of the tat removed.

There were reports Eva tried to laser off the tattoo, but it didn’t do the trick.

Eva will soon be clean as a whistle … for the new guy who, by the way, accompanied her to Dr. Tattoff.

Eva Longroia says “slapping the nun” is her Desperate Housewives highlight.

The Latina actress is currently contemplating the end of the hit show after eight years and her favorite moment is something of a surprise.

“My favorite moments are still in the pilot — mowing the lawn and most of all I loved slapping the nun in season two or three,” she said.

“It’s going to be very hard to say goodbye to moments like that and all the wonderful people who work on the show.”

Eva recently admitted she’s dreading” the end of Desperate Housewives.

“I’m dreading it. I know that’s it’s going to be very emotional for everyone and we’re all going to in floods of tears,” she said.

“None of us know how it ends yet but however it does it’s going to be hard. We’ve all become like a family and even the thought of saying goodbye is unbearable.”

Eva Longoria and Eduardo Cruz strolled through LA’s The Grove last night (18th January). They stopped by Barnes & Noble, where they picked up multiple bags of goodies. The duo have been all about sweet shopping trips lately, as they were also spotted making out inside H&M in Madrid at the beginning of 2012. It’s been about a year since Eva and Eduardo started dating and they are clearly still going strong as a couple. Eva’s reportedly taking another step to move forward from her previous relationship with Tony Parker by getting the tattoo she has of his basketball jersey number lasered off. Eva was spotted visiting a tattoo removal office just yesterday and was apparently accompanied by Eduardo.

Eva Longoria took a day off from glamour yesterday while on a low-key outing with her toyboy. 

The star went make-up free for a visit to Magnolia bakery with Eduardo Cruz.

But the 39-year-old slipped into a floaty dress and a rather eye-catching pair of knee-high Uggs.

The sheepskin footwear featured large buckles, which went all the way up the back of the boot.

The tiny star paired the look with an oversized cream cardigan and carried a pashmina for extra warmth,

She wore her brunette locks out in a natural straight style and even without her usual glamourous make-up, Eva was glowing.

Eva, who is often spotted in a tracksuits on her days off, has been slipping into more dresses of late.

Last week she opted for a slinky and elegant floor-length gown to run errands and get her nails done at the salon.

Despite picking something from her wardrobe intended for a more dressy affair, she injected a casual approach by adding a long grey cardigan.

The Desperate Housewives actress chose to go braless in the summery number, initially tying the attached strings into a halter neck support knot.

However, Eva made a subtle alteration to her look, releasing the strings to create more revealing attire as the neckline sank an inch lower.

She also untied her hair from a ponytail, transforming her scruffy bed hair into a more sophisticated style as it hung loosely around her shoulders.
