Eva: SEXY SHOPPER IN THE CITY.

Wish we all could look as gorgeous as Eva Longoria on an average shopping day. She barely has any makeup on and still looks fab! The sexy Latina was all smiles while picking out some new threads at Zadig and Voltaire in West Hollywood. We’re lovin’ her blush sweater, snug jeans, studded peep-toe heels and black Chanel bag. Driving away in a black Bentley is just the cherry on top! You go, girl.

Newly Single Eva Longoria Gives President Obama All Her Love.

Eva Longoria went from being a Desperate Housewife to being someone desperate for President Obamas reelection, and we are loving every bit of it.

Despite her recent breakup from footballer Mark Sanchez, the starlet made an appearance on Saturday at the It’s On You Canvass Kickoff in South Florida to encourage Floridians to early vote for Obama in their state.

Eva looked every part the presidential campaigner in a blue blazer as she addressed the crowd and urged voters to re-elect President Obama.

The 37-year-old star showed no sign of upset over her recent split from her 25-year-old boyfriend, but who has time to sulk over relationships when there is an election to campaign for?

Check out the photos of Eva making her presidential rounds in Florida in the gallery above.

Eva on cover of the new issue of ‘Latina’.

Eva Longoria is in high-demand post–Desperate Housewives and chats about her new political and TV projects, as the star appears on the November 2012 cover of Latina, which hits newsstands and Nook Newsstand on October 16.

Longoria talks to Latina about being cochair of President Obama’s reelection campaign, speaking at the Democratic National Convention, and being executive producer of two highly anticipated new shows—Ready for Love and Devious Maids.

On being cochair of President Obama’s reelection campaign:

“When they asked me to officially be a cochair, it was not just to put my face on something,”

says Longoria.

“My mission is to educate the public on Obama’s record, specifically with the two communities that pertain tome: women and Latinos.

On transitioning from actress to executive producer through her new production company, UnbeliEVAble Entertainment: “It’s a great position to be in … I want to be the go-to person for amazing projects.”

On finding the right men among hundreds for her new show Ready for Love:

“I’m a woman. I can tell if they want to find their soul mate or if they are just looking for stardom.”

Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry on collaborating with Eva on Devious Maids and her future success:

“She came to Desperate Housewives as an unemployed actress and she left a star who was very aware of her position in the entertainment industry. She’ll probably end up better than me.”

On why education makes her feel powerful:

“As an actress, there’s a stereotype that we can’t be smart, we can’t be political, we can’t be civic-minded or engaged. We just have to stay in front of the camera and look pretty,”

Longoria says.

“No, I’m human. I can do more.”

Eva distracts herself with work and heads to a meeting after love split.

It looks like Eva Longoria found the perfect way to get over her split from NFL star Mark Sanchez.
For the Desperate Housewife was spotted heading into a business meeting to plan the next stage of her glittering career in Beverly Hills on Thursday.
The supremely talented L’Oreal spokeswoman had a serious look on her face as she headed into the offices of the Creative Artists Agency.

No doubt the 37-year-old cougar will be hoping to continue her drive into the world of drama after starring in critical turkey For Greater Glory.
The film, which focused on the events of the Mexican Cristero War of 1926–29, was mocked by movie reviewers, who poked fun at its ‘overstuffed’ script.
But she will be hoping to bounce back onto a firm footing with the forthcoming Long Time Gone, in which she has a supporting role alongside silver screen titans Virginia Madsen and Amanda Crew.
Meanwhile, TMZ are claiming the reason for her split from her 25-year-old toyboy lover was his moodiness due to his team’s poor performances on the field.

An Open Letter to Eva Longoria: 5 Questions I Won’t Ask.

Dear Ms. Longoria: You and The VAR Guy are set to attend the same technology event next week: McAfee Focus 2012. Our resident blogger typically writes about the high-tech market, but he also focuses on human interest stories from time to time. With that thought in mind: Can we meet for coffee and discuss your work as a philanthropist? Indeed, The VAR Guy promises to stay “on topic” and he’ll avoid nonsensical, TMZ-inspired questions that make your eyes roll. In fact, here are five questions he’ll skip and five questions he’ll ask.

Five Questions He’ll Skip…

5. What’s the deal with Mark Sanchez?: Actually, The VAR Guy is a lifelong New York Jets fan. So we do have a common interest there. But The VAR Guy won’t ask.
4. What is Teri Hatcher really like?: Here again, The VAR Guy is a low-key fan who has tracked Hatcher’s career (off and on) since the old Lois & Clark TV show. But again, The VAR Guy won’t ask.
3. You Shudda Won: You were nominated for a 2006 Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Comedy Series for Desperate Housewives. You should have won. Really. But The VAR Guy won’t dwell on that.
2. The Big Screen: Will you be returning to it soon? Frankly, that’s between you and your agent. The VAR Guy will simply be standing by for the official word instead of asking about it.
1. Anything Involving the NBA: The VAR Guy is an NFL fan. No NBA interest. Really. Honestly.

Five Questions He’ll Ask…
5. Why Here, Why Now?: What made you accept the invitation to speak at McAfee Focus 2012?
4. Philanthropy: You launched Eva’s Heroes, a charity that helps developmentally disabled children. You are the national spokesperson for PADRES Contra El Cancer. You support the Clothes Off Our Back Foundation, OmniPeace, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, the National Stroke Association, Project HOME and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, according to WikiPedia.
Now, the question: What was your very first philanthropic move and what sparked that move?
3. Business and Philanthropy: The VAR Guy has a lot of readers who run fast-growing businesses. For those entrepreneurs who may want to develop some philanthropic strategies, what first steps would you recommend? And what moves would you avoid?
2. Building Trusted Business Relationships: You’re famous. How do you know who you can trust in business? What are the clear signs of a true business partner vs. freeloaders?
1. What’s Next?: In business, that is.

That’s all for now. If time permits at McAfee Focus 2012, you can track The VAR Guy down through his alleged manager — Joe Panettieri, joe [dot] panettieri [at] penton [dot] com. Or course, you can always have your people contact The VAR Guy’s people. Coffee date and location to be determined.

Will be funny, right? :D

Scarlett Johansson, Eva Longoria and Kerry Washington star in election video.

The Hollywood stars have shot a 30-second film, unveiled by liberal action group MoveOn.org, attacking Romney’s policies towards women.

In the clip, directed by Rob Reiner, the actresses raise issues such as abortion and rape, and urge viewers to vote for Romney’s rival, incumbent President Barack Obama.

Johansson, already an active supporter of Obama’s re-election campaign, ends the film with the chilling line, “If you think this election won’t affect you and your life, think again.”

MoveOn.org’s creative director Laura Dawn says, “MoveOn is releasing this ad to help ensure that women voters know just how backward and extreme Mitt Romney is when it comes to issues affecting women.”

The U.S. goes to the polls next month (Nov12).

Eva Plays Social ‘Words With Friends’.

Zynga, the world’s leading provider of social game services, today announced its partnership with American Express to launch the first-ever Words With Friends Celebrity Challenge. Beginning today, players can join in on the action simply by playing Words With Friends for their favorite celebrity team. The challenge features Kristen Bell, Sophia Bush, Jonah Hill, John Legend, Snoop Lion, Eva Longoria, Edward Norton and Paul Pierce all competing against one another — with help from their team — for a chance to grab a piece of a $500,000 winnings cache for their charity of choice.

Players can join a team starting today and celebrity gameplay kickoffs off on Thursday, September 27, and run through October 3. Players can play for free by downloading Words With Friends on iOS or Android, and follow the celebrity matchups at www.WordsCelebrityChallenge.com. As part of the experience, players can also donate directly to a celebrity’s charity of choice thanks to a partnership with fundraising site CrowdRise.

“We hope that everyone joins in and plays with their favorite celebrity. When it comes to charity, every word counts, and there is no easier way to donate to a good cause then by simply playing a few rounds of Words With Friends,” said Travis Boatman, senior vice president of mobile at Zynga. “We are excited to be working with our founding sponsor American Express for the Words With Friends Celebrity Challenge, and want to thank our celebrities for having fun with our players to raise awareness for their charities.”

“Giving back to the community is a hallmark of American Express, and we are thrilled to be able to partner on this incredibly innovative, engaging and fun program that will bring together celebrities, fans and charities in the spirit of competition to benefit six amazing charities,” said Susan Hammes, vice president of digital brand and social media development at American Express. “Words with Friends is an extremely powerful social game that has shown its ability to connect millions of users. We wish the best of luck to the celebrities and fans who will join us in the Words With Friends Celebrity Challenge.”

Here’s how players can get involved:

Join and Play — Join a celebrity team and help them win a chunk of the $500,000 for their cause by playing the most words in your own Words With Friends game. Every word played in a game during the length of the tournament will help boost the team’s ranking. The higher the rank, the more money the team wins for charity.

Give — You can still get involved, even if you’re not a wordsmith. By making donations, fans will be able to compete for cool prizes, including autographed items, like basketballs from Paul Pierce and posters from Kristin Bell and Jonah Hill.

American Express wants to help players make every word count by giving away free Word-O-Meters. The Word-O-Meter measures the strength of your word to help you make the best possible moves. When players join a celebrity’s team and play their first word in any Words With Friends game, they immediately receive 50 free Word-O-Meters.

“We are all about making fundraising fun through competition and games at CrowdRise, so this couldn’t be a better partnership for us,” said Edward Norton, who in addition to competing in the tournament is also the founder of CrowdRise. “Zynga knows a thing or two about social gaming, and it’s awesome to see them using that knowledge to engineer impact.”

The charities each celebrity will be playing for:

Eva Longoria — The Eva Longoria Foundation: The Eva Longoria Foundation helps Latinas build better futures for themselves and their families through education and entrepreneurship. The Eva Longoria Foundation supports programs which help Latinas excel in school and attend college, and works to provide Latina entrepreneurs with career training, mentorship, capital and opportunity. By investing in Latinas, the Eva Longoria Foundation hopes to build a stronger future for our country.

Play A Celebrity Sweepstakes

Players will also have a chance to play a game of Words With Friends against their team’s celebrity. As part of the Words With Friends Celebrity Challenge, players who join a celebrity team and play five words in any Words With Friends game during the tournament will be automatically entered in the Play A Celebrity Sweepstakes. Winners will be announced on www.WordsCelebrityChallenge.com on October 4. Limit one entry per person. No purchase or word play is necessary;

Words With Friends is available for free from the App store on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch for $2.99.

In 2011 CrowdRise topped Mashable’s list of “Most Innovative Crowdfunding Platforms” and was named a “Top 25 Best Global Philanthropist” by Barron’s. CrowdRise was founded by actor and activist Edward Norton, producer Shauna Robertson, and the founders of Moosejaw, Robert and Jeffro Wolfe.
