DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES star EVA LONGORIA PARKER is hoping to following in the footsteps of pal VICTORIA BECKHAM and launch a music career. But the actress, 32, who joined Beckham and her Spice Girls bandmates at their Manchester, England gig last week (ends25Jan08), doesn’t rate her singing abilities. Eva Longoria Parker Interview, Over Her Dead Body	Jan-27-08
MoviesOnline caught up with Eva Longoria Parker at the Los Angeles press day for her new film, “Over Her Dead Body,” an uproariously funny romantic comedy about a battle between two women (one of them a ghost…) for the love of one guy. The film is written and directed by Jeff Lowell (writer of “John Tucker Must Die”), making his feature directorial debut. Devastated when his fiancée Kate (Eva Longoria Parker) is killed on their wedding day, Henry (Paul Rudd) reluctantly agrees to consult a psychic named Ashley (Lake Bell) at the urging of his sister Chloe (Lindsay Sloane). Despite his skepticism over her psychic abilities, Henry finds himself falling hard for Ashley, and vice versa. But there is a big snag. Easy does it, Eva! We spotted Desperate Housewife Eva Longoria carefully carrying a cup of coffee back to her trailer last night as she filmed a commercial for ice cream set to air in Europe. Despite the distraction, however, Eva still managed to joke with our cameraman and grill him on the name of her new movie (Over Her Dead Body, of course!) - all without spilling a drop! When Eva Longoria Parker was first drawn to “Over Her Dead Body,” opening Feb. 1, it wasn’t for the more prominent, sweet female love-interest role (taken by newcomer Lake Bell). Oh no, she was more interested in the part of a spirited spirit who works from beyond to stop Bell from hooking up with her former fiancé, played by Paul Rudd. While her husband Tony Parker readies the start of a 14-game stretch in which he’ll play 12 times on the road, Eva Longoria was spotted enjoying the comfortable surroundings offered up by the Mandarin Hotel in Miami, Florida. The Desperate Housewife has recently been talkative with press, weighing in on pregnancy rumors, as well as a lawsuit against X17 photo agency brought on by her hubby. In regards to talk that a baby is on the way, Eva said: “No pregnancy, not yet. I’ve been cooking and eating, cooking and eating. I keep telling everyone that I’ve gained 10 pounds just being on strike.” Meanwhile, Eva’s man has filed a $20 million lawsuit over allegations claiming that he has cheated on her multiple times with a French model. “Tony and I are really tough-skinned,” Longoria told of the situation.
